“When Someone Tells You Who They Are? Believe Them.” ~Maya Angelou, ‘Crystallized’

So, I finally did it.  Broke down and made a wordpress website to better ‘categorize’ being ME:  TheOneCrystal.  As in “The Only One You Need to Know”… or, at least that’s what I tell people!  Who am I?  I’m just a girl in the world – that’s made a career in Talent Marketing, with a focus (read:  addiction) in Social Media, and expertise in Relational Networks.   Oh yeah, and a Mom of 2 Teenage Girls, divorced and dating in D/FW; as well as an avid blogger, music enthusiast,  shoe hound & caffeine addict.  You can learn more about me at:  crystalmiller.brandyourself.com

That’s who I am; it’s a lot to have going on in one blog, but as Jason Seiden says?  Life is ‘profersonal.’  Splitting my life into two blogs would not only be time-consuming; but, it’s only giving you half my story.  Some of you?  Are probably fine with that; others would like to be able to access the whole thing.

Enter WordPress.

The tabs at the top basically represent my life, broken into Categories.

  • Social Speaking – Covering Social Media, Community Building, Relational Networking, #TNL
  • Talking Talent – Here’s were we talk about Talent Marketing, HR, Recruiting, Talent, Culture, #TChat,
  • #TR30Days – This is my ‘personal revolution’ tab – it’s 30 day improvement challenges that I do each month – check it out and feel free to join in the revolution; there’s several of us on Twitter and FB doing it!
  • Working with Crystal – Contact Form & Professional Recommendations
  • Being Crystal –  Because really?  When it comes down to it; it’s all about me, anyway.  Here’s the ‘personal’ side of my ‘profersonal’ website; in it, I cover parenting, dating, fashion, relationships, trending topics… pretty much whatever is going on in my life that I’m wanting to write about.  But that’s why it’s “Being Crystal.”  🙂
  • Crystal’s Causes – Each Month, I choose two charities to work with & hopefully, raise awareness in my community. This is part of my effort to #bethechange I wish to see in the world; but, I’m by no means Gandhi.

So, there’s the breakdown; I think life is pretty funny and that it’s far too short to take too seriously; so, this WILL be a little bit of a different spin in that most of the posts I write will be less “formal” (read:  stuffy) than what you’re going to see on a lot of ‘professionally-minded’ websites.  This site isn’t here to impress you with my intellect … or impress you in any way, except perhaps impress upon you an insight, or a different perspective.  I love music, and integrate a lot of it into my posts.  I write about relationships & kid with people that Recruiting is basically professional matchmaking… So, you’ll often see me drawing correlations between certain HR subjects & dating.  I’ll laugh at myself – you’ll see that too… example below:

Hope you enjoy the site…

Hey! You stole my quote that I stole from RFK for my web page! I’m suing! Where’s my legal team? LOL. Mazel Tov on the launch!
So excited for you and look forward to staying with it and you on your journey.
Much love and blessings to you!

Not gonna lie, I totally stole it – what can I say, it was perfect AND… (are you ready for this fabulous schmoozing moment??)… it was my little way of including you on my page. You know what they say about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery and all that. ;p

Okay, in all seriousness? Love JFK; whoever wrote his speeches really was beyond inspirationally brilliant. Thanks for the well wishes; I’m pretty geeked up about it, too- and now won’t feel so awkward when I’m posting about this, that or the other because there are ‘filters’ now!! :p So glad you’re here with me, buddy; and vice-versa… it’s one heck of a ride, isn’t it?! Great things ahead for all of us, Sir… I can feel it!

    Go TRIBE! xoxo, CM

Ted Sorensen as the writer that collaborated with JFK to write the Inaugural Address and I believe the public address to the nation during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Anyway, I do enjoy your site, and agree with much of what you have to say and for what you stand. My question is how do you have time to do all that you do? ;-).

    God speed and keep going.

Dave, thanks! Funny you should pose that question- I’m addressing it this week starting w/ my post from last night: “I Don’t Know How She Does It aka: Life’s a Trade-Off” http://wp.me/pCklu-hN 😉
